Why Is Cs Source Not Free R Counterstrike Why is cs source not free then? i always loved old cs games and i want to see how cs:s was like but i can't and i really don't see the point of it being paid 19 years after release. Old games don't just suddenly become free after a long time especially games that don't provide second alternate revenue. it's a good thing that css is not free, or there would be a massive influx of cheaters and the game would probably lose it's entire current player base.

Unfortunately, when testing it on a pc without steam installed, the game refuses to work. the error it displays is "cd key authentication invalid for internet servers". (to be exact, the game itself does load however an offline bot server is not able to be created, making the game useless). I've played cs off and on since 1.4 or so. i played a lot of source, but only casually. i've now been playing go for about two years and have been following the pro scene closely since about over a year. however, i just don't understand why source is so disliked compared to the other two versions.
