Trouble Fixing Mesh Issue With Local Mesh Control Autodesk Community I encountered 2 issues when using the local mesh control function with the simulation workspace; the slider in the menu is not visible (manual length textbox is visible); the local mesh will not be created. nor will the normal mesh, as long as there is a local mesh in the simulation. Tips on troubleshooting meshing failure of a model. there can be many cause to failure, some of the causes can be specific to the models geometry.

Local Mesh Control Bug Autodesk Community Turn off mesh enhancement and try meshing again. if meshing succeeds, then this typically indicates the presence of thin fluid channels that fluid elements are being “squeezed” into. either fix the area in cad or target more mesh refinement in those areas. note: make sure to enable mesh enhancement once the repair has been made. To solve the issue please try the either of the following. 1) reduce global mesh size (fig.1, left figure) 2) add the local mesh control (fig.1, right figure) . fig.1. if those operations do not help, please use the "validate" feature to delate additional potentially small faces in the model. Use a finer mesh in troublesome areas that you cannot simplify. decreasing the global mesh size, as well as the local mesh size on certain faces and edges, can help to create a successful mesh. The location of "mesh control > vertex data" is causing a problem. change the location of the geometry used to create the mesh control, either by moving it on the surface or moving it below the surface.

The number of multimatched and unmatched edges can be listed from "mesh > mesh > feature matching" dialog. sometimes the model is valid but multimatched edges occur because the "stitching" tolerance is so large that sliver surfaces are collapsed so that the closely spaced edges are merged. The local mesh option does not display in recap: install recap pro 2026 to use local mesh processing. Consider using the rule of halves; bring in a section of the model at a time and try meshing the model until the issue is found. test to see if the model will mesh without mesh enhancement on. We find this happens a lot when using smooth boundary to create a nice border loop; because it doesn't remesh, smooth boundary will often produce tiny local foldoers.
