Solved Maya Error Error Line 0 No Object Matches Name Body I'm working in maya 2019 and beginning to start my project in xgen with placed curves. i click the grab tool to edit the placed curve and maya says the grab brush is activated but i keep receiving this error: ( error: line 0: no object matches name: body.activesculpt). The reason is because there are 2 or more objects by the same name and the reason they can have the same name it's because they are in a different hierarchy structure, meaning they are parented or grouped under two different parents groups (otherwise maya will automatically rename it).

Hi everyone, i have a problem i can't seem to solve. i have been working with a few scenes and i had to import a shader ball and some of my old shader network. each time i open the scene, the camera view is changed to "shaderballorthocamera1 z". In my case i messed up the "shape" node naming. make sure the light object name is "lightname" and the shape name is "lightnameshape". once i fixed that the error disappeared. Solved: creating an object like command polysphere or through menu throws an error no object matches name shape but it still works. maya 2018 lt sp3. When this happens, your duplicated shader cannot be applied to any object. you have to delete it, create a new shader (not duplicate the first one), relink all the textures and then apply it to the objects you want.
