Sketches Losing References When Switching Configurations Autodesk Hi there, solidworks user attempting to make the switch to fusion, going through some growing pains. i've designed this wooden triangle which frames a sheet of acrylic and connects to other identical triangles using hinges. If i change something anywhere else on the model (for example, cut extrude a hole through the bottom), the references break. the references that are breaking are tabs sketched bends at the top of the model and some holes that are on them.

Sketches Losing References When Switching Configurations Autodesk In addtion to that i have a parameter "spread" that regulates how far apart the two sides of the train tracks are apart (see video). unfortunetly, everytime i update the parameter to another value, the "joint" features loose their reference and i have to update these references. When there is a lost reference (projected geometry), i would like the option to replace it. right now, you have to delete it, select new one, and then reconstrain. for the picture below (just to simulate my complaint), i modeled a box, and then created a cut extrusion through it (the circle). I had one sketch that was created on an origin plane that still had dangling references and managed to fix that remaining dangling ref by redefining the sketch plane and selecting the exact same origin plane. Issue: when opening a drawing in autocad with external references (xref), layer property overrides (color, linetype, lineweight) are lost. they revert to their original state from the xref. this also happens if the xref is reloaded.

To get autocad to correctly keep its settings, do one or more of the following troubleshooting suggestions: on the command line in autocad, enter the wssettings command and select automatically save workspace changes. in options, under the 'profile' tab, verify that the correct profile is enabled. Check the "format referencing" configuration on the drawing properties for each drawing and make sure they match the graphical design on the drawing canvas. switching the format at some point, will result in incorrect references on the sheets. Solution: if the model is changed and the drawing is updated, it is necessary to reassociate the section or detail views.
