Sketches Failing To Solve When Almost Constrained Autodesk Community I have a sketch that appears to be fully constrained (all the lines are black) but, after changing a parameter, fusion can't solve aspects of the sketch. oddly, it's complaining about dimensions which are directly derived from the parameters themselves. The sketch is fully black and seems to be fully constrained, but it says it needs 1 more dimension. i had already checked to see if my sketch is correct by attempting to move any components of my sketch along with checking if i had used correct constraints.

Sketches Failing To Solve When Almost Constrained Autodesk Community 3d sketches not fully constrained how to do this? edit: solved! solution here. i did some searches and didn't find anything so hopefully someone can point me to where this has been asked before. i'm trying to do a 3d sketch as part of a twisted loft and i'm unable to get it fully constrained once i add a 3rd dimension line. method:. This topic covers ways to troubleshoot sketch geometry. onshape uses colors to indicate if a sketch is under constrained, over constrained, or fully constrained. I just discovered fusion doesn't like my picking the offset side. if i choose the inner hexagon side, sketch will get fully constrained, but that's not what i want. Make sure that the sketch is not over constrained. if the sketch contains a projected profile, try breaking the link, or using an alternative command such as spun profile.

Some funny feedback is welcome, but it shouldn't overwhelm the serious comments on the thread. the expectation is that people come here to learn new techniques or solve a problem, frequently for their job. Produced this quick sketch, which i believe to be fully defined, yet the two smaller circles on the right are showing as not constrained. if i draw a sketch line going to the lines, it then shows as constrained, yet i can't see what constraint adding that line is creating. Causes: the dimension that is being edited is being referred by another dimension (through parameter). due to coincident constraint, it is not possible to change this dimension. the dimension is over constrained. On a sketch with arcs and straight lines, i couldn't get the loop closed because of over constrained sketch. i used the line method to locate the incomplete join. when i tried to move the ends together, i got the error. wanted to show it, but couldn't find it now.
