Pdf Js Rendering Quality The Complete Guide Apryse Some text does not render fully for some pages when viewing pdfs in the viewer, but the same pdfs display correctly in a standard browser that uses the default pdf.js renderer, which is also used by pdfjs express as per the documentations and product description. In this article i will explain with an example, how to display (render) pdf file in mobile browser using javascript. In my pdf there are images with a transparent png over it and text. pdfjs quickly shows the pages content while rendering, but a split second after, the images incl. overlays disappear. What actually happens is that this pdf document first (visibly) renders its text content using standard pdf text rendering operators, and that's then being hidden before the image is (supposed to) being rendered. My first version was based on pdf.js. while it functions, it is sluggish when zooming quickly (when rerendering is involved). i'm thinking about an alternative approach, using pdfium to rasterize the pdf into a jpg image, and create a text overlay for selection. The background images have an indexed color space. they also have decode [255.0 0.0] which should invert the colors of the image. in pdf.js, indexed color space ignores the decode entry, so colors will be wrong. for example blue and white colors are inverted in the first pdf. The solution is to upscale the canvas rendering resolution to match the device's native resolution and then use css to downscale its display size. this provides the browser with more pixel information, resulting in a much sharper image and crisp text.
