Now Generally Available Azure Cosmos Db Kafka Source Sink I'm a mysql guy working on a sql server project, trying to get a datetime field to show the current time. in mysql i'd use now() but it isn't accepting that. insert into timelog (datetime filed). Is there a php function that returns the date and time in the same format as the mysql function now()? i know how to do it using date(), but i am asking if there is a function only for this. for.

In java 8, calling java.time.localdatetime.now() and java.time.zoneddatetime.now() will give you representations 2 for the current date time. prior to java 8, most people who know about these things recommended joda time as having (by far) the best java apis for doing things involving time point and duration calculations. Datetime.now gives the date and time as it would appear to someone in your current locale. i'd recommend using datetime.now whenever you're displaying a date to a human being that way they're comfortable with the value they see it's something that they can easily compare to what they see on their watch or clock.
