The summon undead options are honestly kind of lacking in this game. animate dead is a very strong spell but it's kind of your only undead summoning option for most of the game. if you want to go necromancer you should probably think of other things you'll be doing besides summoning. in this game necromancy school had quite a few damaging and debuff spells as well , for example. The term necromancer derives from the words "dead" and "divination." in the sources of fantasy literature, the thing that necromancers did was talk to the dead.
