In these workshops, we are supporting macs and bce teachers to discuss and document their insights from implementing pbl in stem education in their respective schools. Unlike the traditional curriculum which is mainly based on didactic lectures, pbl is based on a group of students working on a problem and solving it. pbl is a promising teaching and learning tool that can be adopted in all fields, especially in medical and dental curricula. This study aimed to investigate students’ adoption of learning strategies in different course implementations, the transfer of learning strategies between courses and relationship to performance. One of the advantages of a stem focus over traditional teaching methods is the suitability of problem based learning (pbl) as a pedagogical approach. pbl provides opportunities for self directed inquiry, rich potential for the development of 21st century skills, and deeper understanding of content.
