Transition Lessons Learned Today, we are sharing the top 10 lessons we have observed, and our clients have shared as they face significant transitions in hopes that it will help others to prepare and enjoy their futures!. By acknowledging that the transition will be challenging, and inviting employees’ input into the process, everyone will feel more involved. engagement requires more effort at the beginning but produces faster buy in, resulting in a smaller time investment as the process progresses. While change will inevitably always be hard in the throes of whatever transformation program you pursue, following some of these basic best practices will hopefully give you the edge you need to be successful. Throughout this 18 month journey, i worked with my executive coach to be sure i was seeing things clearly, doing my own inner work, and thinking through all of my career options.

Lessons Learned From Transition While change will inevitably always be hard in the throes of whatever transformation program you pursue, following some of these basic best practices will hopefully give you the edge you need to be successful. Navigating significant organizational change can be a daunting task for leaders in any industry. this article presents valuable lessons learned from those who have successfully steered their companies through major transitions. As i continue working on large scale transformation projects, i wanted to share additional lessons i have learnt along the way. this is a follow up to my prior article. In december 2018, my proposal for a reflective practice and research fellowship was approved by pillar’s board of directors and i began to work with my colleagues to prepare everyone for my leave of absence. i strove to lead with empathy and open communication and to set my team up for success. I will candidly explore the mistakes i made during my career transition, along with the insights and strategies i gained to level up and move forward.
