How To Build My Impeller Youtube Hi everyone, i've got a pretty new sterndrive and it probably only has 10 hours on it as this point. i see where people replace the impeller every year and every other etc. i understand the wisdom of preventative maintenance. my question is, if the impeller is in need of being replaced what. Re: impeller rotation direction significance? the repair manual for my motor indicates that, when installing a new impeller, the vanes should be greased and the housing should be installed while rotating the drive shaft clockwise.

Re: omc stern drive impeller removal i split my drive with it still attached to the boat. i lowered the bottom half with a floor jack and laid on my back to get at the pump. i used the exploded view as a guide. i bought genuine omc parts from crowley marine. the website has omc exploded views of the drive. Re: grease for impeller? ^^ i have to agree! i install the impeller dry, into the housing, align the drive pin , and set the housing down over it. works every time. no need for "ease of installation'. What do you guys use to lubricate the impeller when your changing it. i have seen some people use grease but i don't really want to run that through the engine, unless anybody out there knows that it's ok. will dish soap work?.

Re: replaced impeller now no.water from pee hole ok, so i was using muffs and a tub of water before, but thought maybe it wasnt' deep enough. i got a 50 gallon drum and used so water level was same as if in a lake. it spit and sputtered water that way out of the pee hole, but was also getting exhaust and exhaust smoke out of the pee hole. Re: omc adhesive m substitute impeller gasket sealing compound, the gasket solution that has a small brush attached to its screw off cap, and the identical sealant replacing omc adhesive which is either marprox sealer 1000 or boat armor sealer 1000 can be purchased at any automotive parts type store, perhaps even wal*mart, k mart, etc. Re: which direction to curve water pump impeller blades a look at which way the motor turns will tell you which way to have the impeller blades turned. just place the new impeller on the drive shaft and alingn the keyway and turn the drive shaft the same way as the motor would. Re: old honda b100 impeller replacement if you haven't done it before you should have a shop manual, or at least find one you can study a bit. start by disconnecting the shift rod, then unbolt and remove the lower.you need a couple of feet clearance to drop the lower.
