Hyperspectral Image Compression Using Implicit Neural Representation

Hyperspectral Image Compression Using Implicit Neural Representation We have evaluated our method on four benchmarks indian pines, jasper ridge, pavia university, and cuprite and we show that the proposed method achieves better compression than jpeg, jpeg2000, and pca dct at low bitrates. This paper proposes a method for hyperspectral image compression using a multi layer perceptron network with sinusoidal activation functions. the network learns to map pixel locations to pixel intensities and achieves better compression than jpeg, jpeg2000, and pca dct at low bitrates.

Pdf Hyperspectral Image Compression Using Implicit Neural Representation This work investigates the use of inrs for hyperspectral image compression and shows that it is possible to achieve high rates of compression while maintaining acceptable peak signal to noise ratio (psnr) values. This paper develops a method for hyperspectral image compression using implicit neural representations where a multilayer perceptron network $\phi \theta$ with sinusoidal activation. Instead of explicitly saving the weights of the implicit neural representation, we record modulations that are applied to a base network that has been meta learned. these modulations serve as a compressed coding for the hyperspectral image. New developments in remote sensing (rst) have made it possible to get hyperspectral images (hsis) with higher spectral and spatial resolution. however, the huge dimensionality and computational complexity of these images provide difficulties for researchers.

This article develops a method for hyperspectral image compression using implicit neural representations (inrs) where a multilayer perceptron (mlp) network with sinusoidal activation functions “learns” to map pixel locations to pixel spectrum for a given hyperspectral image. This data driven and model driven joint modeling mechanism has the following two advantages: (1) tucker decomposition allows for the characterization of the low rank properties across multiple dimensions of the hsi, leading to a more accurate representation of spectral priors; (2) implicit neural representation enables the adaptive and precise. Nect enables reconstruction of 4d objects using an implicit neural representation in space and time. with standard micro ct instruments, nect achieves a temporal resolution approaching a few seconds. Evaluates perceived image quality by modeling structural information, luminance, and contrast, aligning more closely with human visual perception. the parameters of the network, along with its structure, represent a compressed encoding of the original hyperspectral image.
