More Beer New brewer here. at the risk of sounding like i’m asking a dumb question, any recommendations (or cautions) on small batch (1 3 gallon) fermenters? i’ve got carboys and a fermonster, but i’m wondering if there are other vessels you all have had success with in the past. i like to have multiple. Here's an excellent add on for the plastic speidel fermenters. it's sold by hbt member @jaybird at norcal brewing solutions and it allows you to easily attach a blow off (to purge kegs with fermentation gas), and also to do oxygen free pressure transfers when kegging. i bought one, used, from a fellow member here. it's awesome. click to expand.

I have an icemaster 100 unit that i converted to work with a couple grainfather conicals. my setup is very similar to grainfathers offering in which the fermenters receive power and send their cooling signal to the glycol chiller through a single cable. the cables i use to make the connection are the same cables that are supplied with the. The fermzilla fermenters do have a useful life span, unlike stainless fermenters which you could pass down the generations (provided no one puts an actual hole into one, or otherwise does actual physical damage to it). i've also read (or saw in vids) about being more careful as to what you use to clean the fermzilla (and that type of) fermenters.
