Are they necessary? just bought a 17 xmr 1000. max dps seems like a no brainer. why would you want less power steering?. I have the dps on minimum. ps works ok from a cold start but within less than a mile it gives me the 'power steering overheat' and only after a long shutdown do i get it back. low range, high range, uphill, down hill, doesn't seem to matter. i'm on winding wooded mountain trails at 6000 plus feet of elevation. do these power steering units wear.
