Fwiw, eztag customer service has always been super friendly and helpful the few times i had to call. it's nice dealing with a local authority if anything is needed. i haven't had a txtag, so i don't know how easy it is to work with them.

Txtag is issued by the texas department of transportation while ez tag is issued by the harris county toll road authority (hctra). ez tag should work everywhere or almost everywhere txtag works. if you are getting bills from txtag, then your ez tag may not be working correctly and or your license plate may not be up to date in the hctra system. some ez tag store locations have a lane you can. Switched from eztag years ago due to all the billing bs and mistakes. in fact since switching to txtag the only issue i have is eztag not reading the txtag sometimes, which was one of the problems i constantly had with an eztag. combined with the fact that i don't use hctra roads very often, it just seems to prove to me that eztag is still a mess.
