Show a list you can scan in one eye movement. vertical list is really the obvious choice here. this is really overengineering something that should be really simple. the second popup example makes sense because it’s sort of a kitchen sink ribbon of options that needs grouping. this isn’t it. A full ui redesign is a multi year, multi developer project. much discussion has taken places about blender ui design, a google search will show you many threads on blenderartists, bf committers, and other places, with many different opinions. we can improve the ui incrementally, one patch at a time, there is no reason to change everything at once. At any rate, blender’s ui is extremely flexible and it’s not really possible to assume that users will always want to view their properties in a tall and narrow panel.
