Blender Exported Stls Have Missing Layers After Slicing R 3dprinting I don't know much about 3d printing and slicing, but i wanted to get a suzanne head from blender printed. however everytime the stl i export from blender has missing layers, see the picture. In my slicing software (slic3r) some of the vertices walls of my model seem to have disappeared, so that the inside of the model which should be solid is visible, while the surface appears as a thin shell.

Blender Exported Stls Have Missing Layers After Slicing R 3dprinting This blender file includes the full imported model, the split segments, and the parts i attempted to prepare for 3d printing. it shows the complete workflow and the current state of the models before slicing. Model definitely has errors, if you are using blender you would use the 3d print tools to check if the object is manifold or has other errors in it. i see this regularly as someone who creates their stls in blender and it's always either. I have a relatively simple model to which i've added a lot of modifiers in blender. when i export to an stl the result has several solid layers that aren't visible in blender. Now i tried to export a file from a game > blender > cura and while blender and cura x ray view show to correct object, the sliced preview has some missing chunks it in. you can see that the upper exhaust things are fine, but the two lower ones have multiple layers just missing. what went wrong?.

I’m trying to export a file as an stl but the exported model is empty of geometry. i’ve made sure to click “selection only”. i’ve exported dozens of files and never encountered this problem before. the only difference this time is that i imported the file from a chitubox export since the normal flipping was better in that tool. I've designed an object in openscad and exported it as an stl file. now when i try to slice it in prusaslicer as usual, one small part of the object is just ignored. I am attempting to find out why there are differences in blender the slic3r and bambu tools. viewstl shows correctly but there could be anomolies in the file. It happens when you have overlapping meshes or holes in your mesh. you'll want to install the 3d printing toolkit, it can help with fixing holes in your mesh. make sure your models parts are actually joined together with boolean.
