Did You Know About Embedding Images Into Autocad Drawings Autodesk Solved: the problem is as follows: after saving the drawing, closing autocad, and the opening the dwg file again embedded images are nowhere to be. Embedded images no longer display after reopening. images such as pdf, png, jpg, and tiff in autocad or civil 3d. Generally speaking, if you're working in raster design with tif image, it's not a logo or some other small image. at least in my experience over the years, raster design with a tif is usually a scanned plan sheet or a large topo map, neither of which i would ever dream of embedding via ole. I embedded an image to my autocad file but i can't use imageclip command. i don't want to use my image with external references because it vanishes if i change the location.

Issue: after inserting or embedding an image into an autocad drawing using the ole object process (insertobj command), when reopening the drawing, the image does not display. the image shows after initially being inserted but disappears when the drawing is reopened. Embedded images disappear after insertion using the insertobj command (ole). cause: resolution too large. here's the fix. I use windows native screen snip to capture the image and ctrl v to paste into cad. i do this with cut sheets all day so i have appliance sizes in model space for reference. Open your autocad software and go to the desired drawing where you want to embed the image. use the "attach" command by typing "attach" in the command line or accessing it from the ribbon menu (insert tab > reference panel > attach).
